Meet our Team

Dr. Elizabeth Pocius joined River Heights Veterinary Hospital in 2001.  She attended the University of Illinois where she majored in Animal Sciences.  She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. 

Dr. Pocius’s interests include surgery, dentistry, ultrasound, internal medicine, and preventative care.  She understands how special each dog and cat are to their family and tries to treat each pet with the same care and attention that she would give to her own. 

She is currently a member of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the American Academy of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). 

Outside of work, Dr. Pocius spends time with her husband and daughter and 3 rescue pets, a Boxer mix named Tango and 2 cats, Vilnius and Riga. 

Dr. Mayer joined River Heights Veterinary Hospital in 2010. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a focus in pre-veterinary medicine. Dr. Mayer then went to the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Dr. Mayer’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and animal behavior. Dr. Mayer enjoys the challenges that veterinary medicine brings on a daily basis.

Outside of River Heights, Dr. Mayer enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys playing many different sports, spending summers on the family boat in Wisconsin, and hiking in Colorado. Dr. Mayer and her husband share their home with their three spaniels; Tucker, Eli, and Beau, and three cats: Jada, Devon, and Munchkin.

Dr. Jeneen Anderson received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Augustana College and followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 2019. Dr. Anderson has always been passionate about helping those around her, four-legged or not, and veterinary medicine allows her to do just that. She truly enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, and she looks forward to meeting you and your pets. Outside of River Heights, she loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, Robert, and dogs, Archie and Ellie. 

Amy graduated from Aurora University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in health science.  She then attended Joliet Junior College with an AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2008.  

She joined River Heights in 1999 as a kennel assistant.  She then trained as a receptionist and eventually became a certified veterinary technician.  In 2021, she was promoted to practice manager due to her wealth of knowledge and experience. Amy loves to learn about new advances in veterinary medicine so she can help clients and their pets. 

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family on their farm that they share with 2 dogs, multiple cats, and her rescue horses.

Debby started at River Heights in July 2009. She has a black cocker spaniel named "Mister Wednesday". In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening and working on puzzles. 

Stacy has been with River Heights since 2008. She is married and they have 10 "children. Her Lab/Rottweiler Mix - Doc, Pitbull - Zena, McNab - Wyatt, inside cats - Harvey and Mums, outside barn cats - Tom, BamBam and Pebbles, and 2 horses - Comandante and Sissy. In their free, her and her husband, enjoy horseback riding, doing agility, frisbee, and nosework with their dogs. Working on their farm and doing anything crafty.

Alisha has been working at River Heights since June of 2020. She has a bachelor's degree in human services from Columbia College. Alisha utilizes her background to help pet parents ensure they receive the best care. She loves spending time with her family, husband, and their two dogs. Her favorite interests are working out, puzzles, and cleaning.

Amy joined River Heights in November 2020 as a Veterinary Receptionist and has been in the Veterinary field since 2014. Amy truly enjoys her role in providing quality customer service and pet care. She has 3 fur babies of her own, 2 of which she rescued. Amy also has 2 grown daughters and a husband of almost 20 years. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, vacationing and shopping when she is not at work.

I joined River Heights in February of 2022, currently I am living in Yorkville with my fiancé, and four legged children: our German shepherd - Hank, Guinea Pig - Meatball, and Hamster - Teddy B. I enjoy shopping, traveling, and taking Hank on long walks. 

Nikki began working at River Heights in October of 1996 as a kennel assistant. In August of 1998 she was promoted to veterinary technician. She currently lives in Sandwich, Illinois with her husband and their two boys. Her fur babies include “Delilah” a pit bull, who she rescued and wo cats, Elwood and Buddy.

In her spare time away from work she enjoys spending time with her boys.

Kathy graduated from Parkland College with an AAS in Veterinary Technology in 1994. She joined the River Heights team in September of 1996. She enjoys working in a practice that has high standards and where she is utilized to her full potential. Kathy's interests include preventative and senior care, ultrasound, and surgical assistance. But her favorite subject is anything cat-related. After all, she and her husband share their home with seven rescued cats and their college-aged sons.

Jennifer is a CVT who graduated from Parkland College in 2000. She has 3 dogs (Gator, Cricket, and Banjo), 2 horses (Cajun and Hawkeye) and 1 cat (Rookie). She volunteers on occasion as a foster for Illinois Doberman Rescue. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her family, hiking, horseback riding and binge-watching crime TV. 

Autumn began working at River Heights in 2016 as a kennel assistant. In 2017 she was promoted to Technician. She currently lives in Plainfield with her boyfriend and their four fur children. Two dogs; Winter a Great Dane, Whiskey a Great Dane- Golden Mix, and two cats Artoo and Vader. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, photography, and hanging out with friends.

Kristin began working at River Heights in 2006 as a veterinary assistant. She left for 2 years and returned in October 2021. She currently lives in Aurora, IL with her husband, and their 5 furry children. Kratos is her White Nose Pitbull and 4 cats: Tigger, Lily, Snuggles, and Brixton. In Kristin's free time she likes to watch reality TV shows and take long walks with her dog.

I was a lab tech at Antech Diagnostics since 2013. Currently working for River Heights Veterinary Hospital. I am married and have been with my husband for almost 15 years now. We have four furry babies. Two dogs, a Shepherd/Rottweiller named Leia, a dalmatian named Arwen, and two cats named Kreacher and Loki. My passions are: being vegan for 5 years now, I enjoy going on fall/winter hikes. I love collecting antiques, enjoy watching scary, horror films and I love hanging out with my family and friends. 

Graduated from Vet Tech Institute of Fox College in December of 2020. Joined River Heights in October of 2021. Currently living in Aurora with boyfriend, their dog - Riggs and 3 cats - Dapper, Buehrle, and Mabel. Enjoys painting, and everything outdoors. 

An has had a career as a Vet Technician for 25+ years, turning a love for animals into a lifetime occupation. Originally from St. Charles, she and her husband have lived in the Yorkville area for over 20 yrs. She shares her home with 2 crazy Boxers and has a special love for ferrets and horses. 

Mandy has been with River Heights as a kennel assistant since 1995. She loves animals, has a parakeet named Hansel. When she is not working she likes to go to the movies and go bowling.

Cheyenne is a 2021 high school graduate she has been with us since 2019 and loves taking care of the dogs and cats that are here for boarding. She is currently going to school looking forward to her certification in cosmetology. 

Ashley started working at River Heights in February 2022. She loves working with animals and plans on enrolling in a Vet Tech program very soon!

I have always loved animals, so I love working at an animal hospital. I have a pet bunny named Buster, who I love. In my free time, I love spending time with friends/family and traveling.
